A Artist Statement

Graphic designers produce art and communicate ideas through design. I design to give people a new, fun, and exciting way to perceive art. By creating different styles of artwork, it helps me to express my emotions, and gives the viewer a look at my interpretation of the world through design. My use of bold colors and playful designs could be partly attributed to my love of the Pop art movement, and my favorite artist Keith Haring. Like Haring, most of my work is playful, bright, decorative, and expressive whereas the other side of my design work has a more structured, simplified, yet serious feel. My vision for my design work is the same as my philosophy on life. It isn’t what happens to you, it’s how you react to it. I feel like as long as I get a reaction from the viewer, good or bad, I did my job as a designer and as an artist.

Graphic design is art. As a graphic designer I have a responsibility to make sure that my style fits the project. . I must carefully consider the audience, and the client.
